Now that I’m pondering the exact items needed to hold a sacred space, I wonder, are quartz crystals needed to hold a sacred space? Are crystals necessary for me, personally, to achieve a state of meditation? Yellow Dog shares this with me:
Minerals, stones, and crystals all have vibration. Those crystals and stones recently mined usually contain the purity of the chemical vibrational component. Those that have been possessed by humans frequently absorb the vibration of the specific human’s reality. Like the creation of a prayer stick, this absorption can be positive, if the human’s intention was positive. The rosary beads, or mala beads, of a person who vibrated through love and light can be a beautiful item to own and possess.
The opposite can be true, for the human who wept while possessing these same set of beads can leach that sense of sadness into them. In this case the exact same looking beads may have a non-beneficial vibration.
Interesting. I have often wondered why my Grandfather’s set of rosary beads that I inherited felt, well…energetically, unpleasant. Yellow Dog confirms:
Your instincts of what you felt were on target, little one. Just because an item is an heirloom doesn’t mean your ancestor’s state of vibration matches the vibration you want to work within. This is not a state of good or evil, but rather a choice of love or worry.
But not all crystals are doomed inappropriate to use because of the previous owner’s energy. Minerals have the lovely ability to be “cleansed.” There are many videos available through your internet on “how to cleanse a crystal.” My personal favorite is to place a mineral in a stream that I have considered sacred and allow it to harmonize with the vibration of my sacred water stream. This concept is not unlike the tradition of bathing in “holy” water or using holy water to “bless” a person or an object. Some traditions use smoke from incense or burning sage. Some traditions use the vibration of sound, by playing music, drumming, using a rattle, Tibetan, or a crystal bowl to harmonize an item that harbors stale energy.
Beyond the holding of vibrational power of minerals. Well placed crystals in a room can also change the vibration of a room, space, or person through the natural chemical composition of the stone. Yet not everyone feels compelled to work with crystals or minerals. Never follow what others tell you to do or to try. Still your mind, find what you call your personal “intuition” and listen to that internal wisdom. There is intelligence locked within your being. Still the mind and open that hidden source from within.
This excerpt was taken from the pages of The Pet Psychic. I have dabbled in working with crystals, and Tarot cards, and a plethora of meditation techniques. I never thought the topic of my next blog entry would enhance my ability to contact the consciousness of an animal species, but, surprisingly, Animal Relics have a powerful ability for those who experiment…
