Some Questions Asked during an Animal Communication Session
What do I need to do to prepare for a reading?
All I require for a Phone Reading is a relaxed person who can easily hear me. You do not need to be in the presence of your pet or horse. Better to be inside your home with great Wi-Fi service or access to a landline rather than struggling in an outside space with spotty cell phone service.
Have questions ready. Once I hone in on your animal friend I require direction as to what you want to know. Asking a horse what they like usually gets the simple response; “To eat.” Better to be more specific, such as asking if the horse prefers to be ridden indoors or outdoors. This way I can tap into the horse’s memory of both rides and relay the horse’s emotional response to each situation. If you want to understand your pet’s reaction to an event, such as WHY the dog continues to chase the cat, I will be able to provide the dog’s perspective of this event. Understanding the animal’s point of view might lead to a change the owner can make in his or her care.
What physical sensations can I expect during a reading?
You might sense an expanded, relaxed or a little dizzy feeling during the reading. This is normal when joining with the consciousness of another person. We are not functioning solely within our thinking brain that uses the voice, eyes and mind. Instead you may sense using a different part of the brain when we are enveloped within a reading session ~ the part of the brain used when one meditates or dreams.
How will my pet or horse react during the reading?
Animal’s personalities vary just as much as within the human race. Some react with a sense of relaxation and bliss. I had one experience reading a cross-tied Arabian gelding that closed his eyes and went to sleep. (This same horse was known for constantly playing with the cross ties.) Dogs both ignore me and go about their business, or they, too, relax. Most animal friends behave as they usually do around their owners. If you know your horse kicks or your dog bites then please tell me. Just because I’m psychic doesn’t mean I know everything. I might be ensconced within an unpleasant memory with the pet while the pet’s physical body is reacting to the experience. For this reason I’d rather stay outside of a horse’s stall or enclosure when I read.
Should the owner/client remain quiet when you do a reading?
No. When I am taping into the animal’s name I will share what I am sensing. Then I need you to confirm if I am right or wrong. Why? Because you might have multiple animals around you and I want to make sure I am reading the proper personality.
As an example; I was at a stable reading a young woman’s thoroughbred and I kept sensing a pony like horse with arthritis. Because this was an “in person” reading I KNEW I had the wrong horse. I explained to the girl what I was feeling; an older pony with arthritic knees and a deep sense of loss or sadness. The girl began to cry and the barn manager standing nearby told me that the girl just bought the thoroughbred standing in the stall in front of us. This girl’s pony had died a few months back and everyone was still heartbroken over the loss. Once we recognized the pony “in spirit” I was able to sense the thoroughbred and proceed with this girl’s intended reading.
Another reason why I encourage owner participation is that I am acting as an interpreter for you and your animal friend, not as a fortune teller. Please work with me by confirming if you understand what I am saying and provide me with the questions you want to have answered. This way you will get the most value out of your session.
How can you read animals that have passed?
I believe the consciousness does not stay confined to the brain of a being and when an animal “dies” that same consciousness lingers. This does not necessarily mean the animal in spirit is somehow trapped in our dimension like illustrated in so many popular paranormal television shows. No, the animal usually chooses to remain around his or her human companion through memory and emotions. Some of these animal friends manifest as if they were still within their old body, others appear as large or diffuse weightless beings, and some are reliving their final moments while still alive. Usually these “in body” memories are just a way of confirming that the consciousness I am reading is your pet or horse.
Occasionally a person that is in spirit will appear with living or deceased animal friends. An example would be an “in person” reading I was doing with a group of friends. One friend was holding a poodle whose owner had recently died. The reading was pretty average and I was gesturing with my hands when my right hand came to my mouth and I blew a kiss to the friend of the pet’s caretaker. Everyone was shocked because the deceased owner would oftentimes make this same gesture to this woman. This is but one of many examples that I have experienced which confirm that the consciousness does linger even after the physical body dies.
Why can’t I understand my animal friend like you do?
I believe our current Western culture stifles one’s psychic ability. Have you noticed that children have “pretend friends” and easily communicate with animals and only after being ridiculed or reprimanded do they “loose” this ability. Our society rewards one that can focus, stay on course, be on time and meet deadlines while a person who drifts from one idea to another, doesn’t worry about impressing another with his/her possessions and doesn’t worry about one’s future status is considered simple minded or lazy.
If one wants to develop their psychic ability I suggest practices that help to open up the meditation or dream state mind. This training will allow the brain to activate in concert with the thinking mind. The result might be a more peaceful and blissful individual. A “side effect” that is really quite lovely.
Is this witchcraft?
No, reading another person is not based on any religious belief. I have studied comparative religions and understand that the ability to use or experience psychic phenomenon might be attached to fear. I believe what I do when sharing a reading session is using the science of activating a particular part of the human brain that one does not normally call upon in our modern “culture.”
As an example; I was a yoga instructor and noticed a change overcome my students as each class would progress. Once the class was underway and the student’s thinking minds would stop, I could sense peacefulness overcoming the room as I would watch the students move as one. Yes, I was “cuing” the class, but there was more. This ability to follow a leader without really thinking is the same state of mind that I use during a reading. This is not magic but simply activating a different state of awareness.
My pet is missing… can’t you just tell him/her to come home?
Unfortunately I cannot control the mind or the will of a missing pet. Also, I am not communicating through a language based on a linear train of thought. I am receiving bits of memory coinciding with pieces of “real time” experiences. Animals don’t read, so I am not able to understand the words on street signs. The best I can do is to share what I am experiencing and, together, we might be able to piece together where your pet is located.
As an example; I might see a scene of inside of a home and then be inside a cement drainage tube next to a busy highway and then see a bunch of cats eating around me while sensing fear of the unknown. The owner in this scenario agreed that the home I was seeing was her apartment and confirmed that she lived by a highway. We had a second reading and she confirmed that someone in a neighborhood on the other side of the highway did “see” her cat while feeding a colony of wild cats by an abandoned building. Sadly, her cat did not CHOOSE to come home but the owner had the peace of mind knowing where the cat was.
Sadly, I have experienced be a cat, walking in the woods, and then everything stops. In one of these scenarios the owner followed my description of the surroundings and found tufts of fur confirming that the animal had died. I understand that it is extremely frustrating for a loving owner to be missing a pet. I will convey all that I receive, but please understand that I don’t always get a definite answer.
Will my horse or pet change after you talk to them?
I believe a reading session opens up an understanding between the human and the horse or pet. Sometimes the animal chooses to change, sometimes they don’t. I’ll close this page in my website with one more example…
I remember talking with a horse that was afraid of the owner holding a rope gate when doing a trail course. Try as he might, the owner couldn’t get his horse to stand quietly for this obstacle. I read the horse and he shared that the rope gate was electric fence. I showed him that it was not… and the rest of the reading went on to other subjects.
A few weeks later I met the owner while at a horse show. He had just done his trail course, saw me standing across the way and as he approached I saw him shaking his head. He came up to me, took his cowboy hat off and looked me in the eyes and said; “Ya know, it was the damnest thing. I went up to the rope gate and my horse didn’t even flinch, acted like he had done this a million times.” The man was still shaking his head when he turned and walked away. I suppose that pony understood what I had shown him and choose to change his behavior.
